Almost all of us have Little Darlings in our lives. They are those very youngest of people who we want to love and nurture. Some of us are actual grandparents to these Little Darlings. That’s why I call us Grammies. But you don’t have to be an actual grandparent to have Little Darlings. Your Little Darlings could be your nieces or nephews. Maybe they are your own child’s stepchildren. They could be the kids who live next door or your Sunday School class. If you are a teacher they might be the kids in your class. Little Darlings are those precious little children that you just want to do something special for. You might want to develop a life long relationship with them or maybe they will be under your influence for only a short while. But if they are your Little Darlings then you want to be there for them. You want to support their parents by mirroring their morals and ideals and spiritual realities. You want to be available to help your Little Darlings know who they are and who they can become. You want them to know how much they are loved by you, by their parents and by the Lord.
In order to impart this wisdom, we need to have relationships. And one way to build relationships is to do things together and have memories of what you have done. That’s where Grammy Books come in!
You will need to find out what your Little Darlings are "in to." You probably know already! Maybe you and your Little Darling like taking walks together in the woods or at the beach. Maybe you have a Little Darling who is always saying "Watch this!" Maybe you help out in your Little Darling's class at school or church. Perhaps your Little Darling loves to hear stories about when her parents were little or loves to collect certain toys or flowers or animals! Is your Little Darling in to fashion? Sports? The Holidays? Would you like to reinforce the idea of being thankful? Of being a helper? Would you like to help your Little Darling learn colors or counting?
